About this test

6 min to complete
Available in EN, ES, RU

While Arizona uses a graduated driver’s license program, an important part of your written knowledge exam will be proving that you understand the limitations and requirements for each step to your unrestricted license once you turn 18 by answering questions about fines and limits. Your knowledge exam will consist of 30 multiple-choice questions pulled from the 2024 Arizona Driver License Manual, of which you’ll need to correctly answer a minimum of 24 questions to pass the test. This MVD practice test will focus on specific license restrictions, speed limits, and fines for traffic violations, as well as impacts from driving under the influence, and much more. Once you’re properly studied, you may take your written knowledge test at your local MVD testing location for a $7 fee, which will cover three attempts to pass your exam within a 12-month period. You may also take the test in languages other than English or in an oral form, as long as you arrange to ahead of time. Once you get your permit, you must hold it for six months before you can take your driving test, pay a $25 license fee and receive your graduated driver’s license. Taking specialized practice tests, like this one allowing you to perfect your ability to answer questions about driving limits and related fines and restrictions, as well as general ones, will help you pass your knowledge exam on the first attempt.
